About

Hi! I’m Rebecca, or as my followers know me Diva di Cucina! It is so nice to meet you! Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere. I am thrilled you stopped by!

Diva di Cucina is a space for all things food. You can expect to see recipes, pictures, food facts, and even some of my adventures in the kitchen. I have created this blog as a way to share my passion for food and cooking.

Me in Nut Shell
I was born and raised in small Northern California town and I moved about 2 hours away for College and have stayed put since. I currently reside outside of Sacramento and work as a Design Studio Manager at the local University. I am a perfectionist and a control freak who likes to follow rules and I hate it when I disappoint people. You can always find a “To Do” list on my desk. Sometimes I even write things down that I have already done, just to be able to check it off. The people who know me best would say I am passionate, determined, and that I love wine and bottomless mimosas. I don’t think anyone would ever describe me as shy. If I had an entire day to myself you could probably find me aimlessly wandering through Target, Michaels, or Rod Works. I love home décor and making things! I need coffee every day. Like NEED, as soon as my eyes are open. But it must be a good dark roast with a hearty splash of cream. I can’t stand cheap coffee. My favorite ice cream is mint chip and I insist on eating tacos every Tuesday.

I am by no means a professionally trained chef nor do I have any formal education in culinary arts. The closest thing I have to any professional experience is from my days of waiting tables at a restaurant, bartending at a brewery, and also being a baker and barista at a coffee shop in the small town I grew up in. I am completely self-taught and have always had a love of cooking that I developed from both of my parents. Growing up I was surrounded by good home cooked food. As a designer I have a good understanding of balance, composition, and presentation. I am amazed at how my background in design has come to influence my cooking.

I’m a working mom so my recipes are typically easy, affordable, and don’t require tons of preparation. I would call my cooking style casual, but with flare. Cooking for others and entertaining are things I love. I thrive on it. My kitchen is a place of enjoyment and passion. I love trying new recipes and putting my own spin on things.

My most popular recipe on this blog is The Most Awesome Pork Tenderloin Ever!

Why the name Diva di Cucina?
Honestly? All the other names I had come up with were taken. When I created this blog it was because I had just started getting on the bandwagon of posting photos of all my meals to Facebook. (This was totally a thing in 2010.) I was constantly having friends and family message me or commenting and asking for the recipe. So, when I created this blog it was solely for the purpose of sharing recipes with a small handful of people. When I went to create my blog the first 10 names I had in mind were already taken, including Kitchen Diva. So I tried the Italian version, Diva di Cucina, and winner winner chicken dinner, that one was available. I am not from Italy but I am part Italian on my mother’s side and I have always prided myself on my ability to make some mean Italian food.

Well that is me and my blog. If there is anything else you want to know about me just ask! Feedback and comments are always welcomed so please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions.

Buon appetito!

    1. Thanks Bruce! That means a lot to me. I have always wanted to do a food blog and finally got around to it. I think it will be a lot of fun. Please feel free to share with anyone else you think might enjoy it.

  1. I don’t see an option to email your recipes to myself. I do print them after I make them first to see if we like the recipe. I want to make the pork tenderloin but have a problem finding the recipe after I leave your page.

    1. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond! At the bottom of each recipe you can see text that says “Share This:” It gives you the option to share to Facebook, Pinterest, etc. there is also a little icon that says Email. You should be able to click that and then enter your email address. Hope that helps!
